I took the ine off the end of my name and have never been happier. My dad reckoned I'd have to get tough or die but hadn't thought it through, really.

I recently came across a family that included a Sunnivah, a Taris, a Harmonie and an Oscion-Shem. Compared with that lot, Susannah isn't bad.

But since no-one is capable of remembering how it's spelt properly, and most people seems to want to shorten it to Susan or Suzanne, both of which I dislike, I've more or less just opted to be Sue, which most people can cope with.

That's my proper name which I can't say I'm fond of as every other person in the world called Pauline is at least 60. Polly is a completely meaningless nickname that started at university.

I am more than happy with David. I do get annoyed by folk who call me 'Dave' though. My middle name is another kettle of fish however; it is Vyvyan. Nobody can ever spell it - that makes me feel good!

No, it's nice, Pauline. I like it, me. Then again, I know loads of lovely Paulines and don't think I've come across a nasty one. And they're all under 60, too!

I'm an Andrew, and happy with it. What I don't like is being called Andy. Not because I don't like the name but because it's not MY name! Might as well call me Pauline!

Giles. And yes funnily enough I have always wanted to be a farmer. I won't say I don't like my name, my folks must have spent a lot of time deciding on it- unless they were piss*d! it was pretty common in Norfolk when I was young. But, less so when my Dad had the brilliant idea of moving to flaming London. Cheers Dad. So got some grief down there for having a 'posh' name, escaped sharpish and all's well enough now!
