500 are closing per month as people stop using cash. I still use cash for most purchases below £10 and other purchases in indepedent shops or pubs.
I withdraw at least £100 a week in cash, there are 8 free to use ATM machines within a mile of my house.

Does anyone else still use cash?

Not as much as I used to, Touch 'n' Go for most transactions, Bank Transfers for higher value purchases.

I had an energy deficit on Sunday and took cash into a shop for a badly needed bar of chocolate. If I had known the price of a chocolate bar nowadays I would have used my card! ^_^

  4. Apple Pay is awesome but you can’t really demonstrate what sort of person you are without dropping a wad of 50s.

You run a shop.. You have a cash machine.

Bastids destroy your shop and living in about 2 mins..

You run a shop and dont have a cash machine.
You sometimes get a bit of shop lifting...

I'll use my card for almost all purchases, even a 15p onion in M&S.
Only in the pub. I know most pubs have contactless but after three pints and without my specs on, i can't confidently see how much I'm paying.
Oh... and at the street stalls on market day.

Had to use the free ATM cash m/c in our local Co-OP at the weekend, to pay for our Chinese takeaway. The latter only takes cash!

I don’t use a lot of cash but I always have at least a tenner on me. Contactless debit generally under a fiver or so, and credit card over a fiver (might as well get the points and not have to pay immediately)

Cash if under a couple of quid if the self checkout takes it (not in most Waitrose branches for example)

Can @Markymark cut his powder as well with an iPhone? Platinum Credit cards still have their uses.

I prefer cash nowadays, I'm not as well off as I used to be so it's easier to keep track of spending.
