BBC a puppet of the Tory government?

Didn't say it should be to the person directly, but definitely part of the studio or related analysis and exploration. But that was almost always entirely lacking
We're now up against a different problem of resources, and to a lesser extent, available skills.

To give an extreme example, it's only the News of the World which had the money and a proprietor willing to spend it to send the likes of Mazher Mahmood undercover for months on end for just for one story, albeit a massive one.

Also worth bearing in mind Mahmood will have spent more months having a run at other stories which failed to make anything.
