Beer or lager?

I have recently rediscovered the joys of what we call 'heavy' up here (you might call it bitter). Tastes change and a pint of heavy does the job for me. What about you?

Lager or guinness. I like bitter (etc) but rarely buy them in pubs. Occasionally get bottles of nice ale in to quaff at home.

I used to drink lager until an unfortunate coming together between me, Munich and a Saturday night full of Lowenbrau wheat beer. Worst hangover i have ever had, and put me off lager for life.

Slightly confused by the OP - lager is a type of beer (at least in modern usage).

Real lager beer is fantastic stuff. Unfortunately the stuff sold in the UK is mostly not proper lager beer. It's like hand pulled real bitter and the three-day piped stuff.

Absolutely - unfortunately, it takes time to do it properly which the big brewers won't commit to.
