Hi all,

I have just got my first hybrid bike which is a Giant CSR5 23" Frame. As the Bike shop has put the bits etc on i wanted to know what is the best way to see if the seat is at the correct height for me so it will not cause any issues. Also go's for the bars as well.

Sorry to ask the above but long time its been from when i last had a bike

The seat should be at a height so that the leg is still slightly bent at the knee when the pedals are at the lowest point of the revolution.

Bars should be set a height that is comfortable - too low and you will be putting too much weight on your hands so it's a matter of trial and error in getting the set up just right for you.

Cheers for the link. Have had a look but a bit over my head. Decided to sit on the bike how it was setup from the shop. Seat seems to be ok with my foot on the peddle my knee has a slight bend in it and i can just touch the floor with the other foot. Not sure if this is the correct way. Will try and get back on it later and get a picture

PS: God it hurts getting back on a bike seat after a few years
