Recently received this message from the organiser. I intend doing this one again this year.

I did that one a few years ago when it was 110miles, wasn't the best organised but the scenery was great helped out by great weather.

I doubt it was the original route that was 110 miles, they shortened it latter years.

It's same route as 2011, It was never reversed, but a slightly altered beginning, and shortened to 102 miles, or 72.

I was flagged down when riding on the A708 a couple of weeks ago and stopped, thinking someone needed help or there had been an accident. Turned out to be someone handing out flyers for this sportive.

Do other sportive organisers behave in this irritating fashion? Why would I want to pay the equivalent of a years VED to ride on the very roads I ride for free every week?
