Bike Hire in France

I am off to France beginning of July for a fortnight to the Basque area near Biarritz. I am not able to take my own bike but would like to go for a few rides. Does anyone know how I can arrange the rental of a road bike whilst I am out there? I am not a particularly experienced rider or fit but would like to try a bit around the Pyrenees.

I don't know of any shops/hirers in the area, but couldn't you just buy a 'hack' bike for the duration of your trip?

It might be cheaper in the long run - but I would imagine leaving it behind could be difficult!

Thanks for the reply, I was thinking of buying a bike over there if renting is difficult and possibly posting it back, don't think I could abandon a bike.
Anyone any idea of the cost of postage?

Thanks I might try the local Decathlon, will have to persuade Mrs W that I need another bike though.
