Twas an opening scene in the much loved Xmas film Chitty Chitty Bang bangThere's a heck of a lot more trees and bushes now.
I've lived in the area since about 1998, but Saturday will be the first time I've been up it! I can't wait (weirdly!). I'm curious to know how more/less difficult it is to Ditchling Beacon, which I've been up a few times.Things have changed in what way ? Ive lived fairly close to box hill all my life but in my adult life have never been up it for some reason . Ive just added it to my garmin as a 50 mile route ...... Should I remove it ?![]()

My yardstick is the gear required to keep spinning nicely: BoxHill varies between my 7th and 8th gears, Ditchling between my 2nd and 3rd.
Edit: living as I do 3 miles from BoxHill but 40 from Ditchling, my legs are usually fresher when I do the former, so the comparison may not be strictly fair.
