They'll do the job but IMO they are a bit dear pop to a lbs and you will get something for a couple of quid that will do the job just as well.

Not sure about the hype - I have finally zeroed in on fully-encased stainless cables and (for an all-weather trans-London commute) they have saved a lot of aggro over previous exposed cable systems. Admittedly, I've gone down the blingtastically pricey Nokon route (look! I was a bit drunk, and they were in a sale on Wiggle!) ... but they do look good!
