First one of course but it's full name is scone (sc-on) with heaps of jam and cream and all swilled down proper with gallons of tea

Definitely sc-on especially with lots of strawberry jam. Not something I am particularly good at baking (unless someone has a foolproof recipe?).

Just had a sudden urge to gorge myself full of sc-owns with butter, strawberry jam and a dollop of cream!

I think you might have something here, though. I am not originally from this neck-o-the-woods. Midlands man but most deffo not a Northerner!
