Cateye cordless wheel magnet

Hi,

I have a cateye cordless 7 computer (re-named as the cordless 3) and I bought 2 spare wheel magnets (for other wheels) but both seem not to work even though they claimed to be fine with all cateye models - I have 3 different magnets in total.

They make that 'click' sort of sound but nothing registers - if I go back to the original magnet that came with the computer everything is fine!

So what's up? I'm guessing that not all cateye wheel magnets are the same - although they all look the same! Anyone had a similar problem?

There are no compatability issues with magnets, they are all the same. Are you sure you are stting them up properly, correctly positioned on the spoke and within 2mm of the sender?

tis possible that the cateye one that came with the computer is a bit stronger than the others....

yes, it looks a little thicker than the other 2 - this is the most likely problem - not sure how to solve it though!
