My Roubaix has a KMC 10 speed chain which has now done 1800 miles. If I check it with a chain wear indicator at any point on the chain it measures less than 0.75% worn, unless the indicator spans the connecting link, when it shows over 1%.

Is this normal or a problem?

It has occurred to me before about how a quick link wears in relation to the chain itself...perhaps this answers it.
I'd be checking the chain at regular intervals, see if the wear's regular over the rest of the chain and i suppose you could stick a new conn link in, just for peace of mind.
I check my chains regular...and i'm going to make sure i check over the link as well in future.
