my new bike which i will only use in Summer, has Mitchelin Orium Tyres,

I've no experiance of the Oriums but I can tell you that you wont go far wrong with the GP4000's They're fantastic tyres.

If you've already brought the GP4000 tyres then switch them over and try them?
You'll need to give the new tyres a few rides before you make up your mind. It takes a few miles before they start to grip / roll to their full potential.

Though I haven't used the Orium's, it's a mid-range tyre. The Conti GP 4000s are a good tyre, albeit fast wearing.

Still, swapping would be a good change. Why don't you report back and let us know your perceptions -- faster, more comfy?

GP4000, Mich Pro Race and Stelvio Ultremo...very good tyres...your bike will feel loads different..

PS make sure you scrub off about 100 miles on them before pushing the tyres, especially in the wet......(manufacturing chemicals)
