Hi

I am looking for winter clothing I can buy suitable for road bikes. Temperatures are hitting below freezing point here and can't cycle because it is painfully cold, especially the breeze and high winds. Wearing 2 pair of gloves is no use, the wind really drags onto you.

I want to know what I should be looking to buy, wearing winter orginary cloths doesn't really help so I will be needing proper cycle clothing to stay warm?

Thanks for any advise.

Wind chill is a major factor on a moving bike, so wind-proof clothing is a must. With the same number of layers, but the outer one wind-proof, you will feel much warmer. If you have a rain jacket or race cape, that will do. Hands and feet should also be wind-proofed. Cycle-specific winter clothing will do the job well.

Cycle specific clothing suits all types of bikes. Ian H is bang on. Layer up and get something that's windproof for the outer layer.
