Not good news.
Agreed, a very sad day.
Very sad. It really is terrible the number of famous people who die in their own private aircraft.
Agree, a brilliant rally driver.
sad day indeed
Not that long since Richard Burns passed away too...although that was through illness...
As well as being a great rally driver and interested in all things automotive Colin was also a pretty keen cyclist as well as he used it as part of his fitness regime.
My thoughts are with his family and friends at this sad time
very sad news
Very sad news indeed...one of the great drivers of our era.
Whats even sadder is that his 5 year old son was on board as well. RIP
A good friend of mine works for a rally team and knew him personally - they are all completely devasted by it - apparently he was a really great guy. Just so tragic...
it's so sad.
Agreed. Colin lived to the max. The 5 year old didn't get a chance. Such a waste (as is any death so young).
Often these PIY (pilot it yourself) accidents are low hour pilots in basic aircraft. But these two have been sophisticated machines flown by experienced pilots. Quite unusual but just as sad.
Obviously his number wasn't up!
