I'm always amazed how stupidly flat London is, then you guys do all these herculean distances and then you think oh well I guess it is flat but still a long way.

It's not that flat, with just over 500m of climbing for the round trip. Even the Hell of the Ashdown is something like 1500m climbing and TOSH 1800m.

Got the elevation from Bikely - put the route in, and capture the screenshot with alt-prt screen.

When last I checked, BikeHike took elevation from the OS lines, which map the ground surface, so things like bridges, underpasses and flyovers don't register. Not a huge difference on a 350m climb but you're probably looking at another 5m for each one.

Cool :smile: I'd look at one for my commute, only I know its probably about eight inches descent and climb each day, if that. Gotta hate East Anglia.
