Does anyone know where I can get decent insurance cover for me and my bike. I would like it to cover it for theft and also for the cost of replacing the bike in the event of an accident.

Cheers,

I struggled to find a good plan so mine's on the house insurance. I was looking into evans. They all seemed pretty similar the ones I could find. They were very particular about locks and things, and I felt that if it ever got stolen they would find some clause not to pay so I didn't bother using a specialise policy.

My bike is safe in work as I keep it in my managers office and I am sure it is covered under my house insurance if nicked out my house! I am more worried about gettin knocked off it and snappin the frame (Carbon) Or crashing it myself and snappin the frame! Surely there must be some sort of cover available?

Ah, sorry..I don't know about fully comp. If you get knocked off it, the other person should be liable...but if you come off I'm not too sure about a fully comp provider. Do any companies actually offer it?

Wow!
I just looked up a complete plan on my Trice QNT and it is as much as my car insurance! They have to be joking, surely the risk of losing/damaging the bike isn't that likely? Then taking into consideration the amount of damage a car will cause to other people property compared to the damage inflicted by my trike, any likely damages claim is going to be a lot smaller. Also the replacement value of my car, if written off, is several times the replacement cost of my trike!

Byegad, I looked into this on my Trice Q and gave up - I bought an Abus Granit lock instead (1.8kg ) and use that if I am leaving the trike anywhere dodgy; if I'm just popping into a shop for a minute or two I use a cheap-ish lock. I work on the assumption that my trike is less easy to sell on as it's a specialised product. I haven't even considered what I'd do if it got damaged in an accident (except buy another one, of course), but I tend to work on the assumption that I'm less likely to fall off and damage it that way, at least.

Mine is covered for accidental damage on the house insurance, so apparently (they say) if I crash it, I'm covered...
