Hell, I'd go just for Victoria Pendleton!

This is why: http://highwaymunky.files.wordpress.com/2008/11/2008313103526_victoria_pendleton500.jpg

EDIT: Thought I should perhaps even things out, make things a bit fairer for the ladies - heres Lance Armstrong for you: http://farm1.static.flickr.com/54/191393013_9d4473d20b.jpg

I found it a bit dull - maybe a bit different if I was with a bunch of people who knew a bit about bikes. (Counts out going with Davy and Luke and the other reprobates then....)
Talent and a bar there Davy, so you should have enough to do...

I went last year, and frankly was rather disappointed. It's really a trade show, not a shopping trip

There is a shopping area this year, for clothing and accessories, which there hasn't been in the past.

I'm still undecided. I can get a free ticket from work it depends on whether I want to get the train there and back, the day after I get back from a week at my sister's...

I got tickets because I'm on the Sustrans Women's Panel so will be bobbing along with a friend. Never been to anything like it before so I'm hoping it will be fun. The last thing I went to there was the BBC good food show and I got trashed on wine tasters. Doubt I'll get quite so squiffy at this one!

*Grins widely like a Cheshire Cat..*

Just a point then, I take it that those who cycle there can wheel their bikes around inside the show then?

TBH, I just want a perv at all the bikes, see who else cycles with white tyres and finally try one of those 200metre sprint challenge thingies...

If Vikki P, Nicole Cooke or any other of the other beauties are there, well, its a bonus.. Ill be flashing legs off anyhow...

There will be a manned secure ticket-entry type bike park.

Unless you mean you want to show your bike all the stuff....

Thanks!

Yes! It then stops me buying anything on the spot (possibly) as I will have my baby with me.. also sporting new matching Zebra print bar tape....

There was a shopping area for clothing last year which wasn't much cop.

Some of the stallholders in the rest of the show were very apologetic but were adamant they couldn't sell anything to me without risking their place there. I couldn't even buy a Charge saddle from Charge's own stand.

There was a satnav stand with special offers but when I went back to buy one before leaving, the sales appeared to have been stopped and all the show pricing removed.

I can see why the organisers don't want the event to be a tatty market but to spend a lot of time and cash getting there without any show offers to help recoup some of the cost was a big disappointment and I won't be going again. I don't know how widespread this kind of 'no sales' policy is but it's the only specialist show I've been to that operates this way.

I do hope that there isn't going to be a no sales policy, the point of us going to the show is to meet people and sell the mag.

RedJedi, you going?

Am thinking of having a half day off on the friday to go up there..

Not sure yet. I won't be able to get a half day on the friday as I'm off the following week, so it would have to be a weekend day.
Trouble is those days will probably be packed and I hate crowded places.

And as nice as your bike is, I doubt they will let you push it around. It would be carnage if everyone try to walk around with their bikes.

Also as I've got very little money at the moment I don't want to be tempted by all the new gadgets ;)
