Keep Calm and OMG.......CAKES!!
The ToB comes to Norfolk next month and along with the 100 cyclists comes some 50 cars, 30 vans, 64 motorbikes and 70 additional vehicles - and that doesn't take into account all the thousands of people expected to turn up and watch.

It rather depends on what the Organisers of the Tour of England (with a little bit of Wales) have done to off set the carbon usage of the motor vehicles. Interesting one of the very first organisations to get into carbon offsetting to become carbon neutral was F1 racing, no doubt cycle racing is way behind the curve...

The carbon to produce the bikes, the replacement bikes and all other equipment. The food to fuel to riders and all the team. Electricity used to film the event, broadcast it live or highlights. the energy used for everyone to watch it on the tv. The list can go on, but it's the same for every event, not just cycling!

It wouldn't be news if CRed didn't exist. It happens, and the organisers make an effort to minimise the impact.

Cycle racing isn't about being carbon neutral - it's about physical strength and endurance.
