Cyclists Special Re-run?

Most of the 1955 Cyclists Special was filmed around south Leicestershire and north Northamptonshire where I grew up.

I know where all the places are and am thinking of setting up a ride to visit quite a few of them. Although it can't be in the order they're shown in the film because it was an edit job from all over the place.

The ride would start and finish in Husbands Bosworth, be around 25 miles and open to period (although we wouldn't be that strict as long as nobody turned up on a carbon or mountain bike) and clothing to suit.

Looking at early September - probably the 4th.

Anyone interested?

Would be tempted, but September is usually manic. Mum and sister's birthday, one and only annual walking trip to the Lake District, plus many other people plan things for September, after summer hols, but before weather breaks.

Can't promise owt. Sorry.

Sadly, all I have to ride is carbon...

Do you have a specific start in Husbands Bosworth? If not can I suggest the gliding club, Plenty of parking, proper toilets, tea, bacon butties and cake. They welcome 'strangers' to use their facilities, just give the club a call.
