Specialist energy bars will be available from sports shops, but I get on well with Geobars from the supermarket. I've had trouble finding them too - breakfast bars on a shelf near the museli, some on the biscuits aisle, and others hidden with the weight loss/gluten free type products. This week my local Sainsburys has had the Geobars with the biscuits.

Not a big fan of "Energy Bars." The gag factor always kicks in after a while. I'm much more inclined to use liquid myself.

There's a small -- soon to be expanded -- nutrition section here. To reiterate, we're often too quick to look for a specialty option, when there are plenty of tasty on-bike food options available at the supermarket, and likely your own kitchen.

I'm a big fan of Nutrigrain Cherry Oat bars. I see quite a few other cyclists munching them too.

I had a stash of free Lucozade Energy bars about 6 weeks ago which were ok, but tasted weird after heating up in a back pocket.

I like most varieties of Nutrigrain Bars, they aren't too chewy and they're nice and moist.

I rode a 100km AUK DIY yesterday, hence my absense here.

Wednesday evening, I treated myself to a Tesco 'Curry for two' pack off the 'Reduced for quick sale' shelf. Shared it with my GF.

No breakfast before the ride. 1 cup of coffee.

An egg mayonaise and bacon sandwich on Granary at the turn ( Daventry ).
2 ( 4 x 500ml ) litres of diet coke during the ride.

Got home and my GF had made some scones, so it was a Devon Cream Tea at four o'clock.

I stopped the 'post ride munchies' by eating 2 oz butter before showering.

BTW, What's an energy bar?

"Eat Natural" bars are my favourite, various flavours, I like the ones coated in yoghurt best 200-250 cals each.

I get them from the supermarket, they've even got their own website !
