If Ukraine wins then it does underline the pointlessness of the entire thing.
And I’m full aware that it hasn’t been a real competition for years.

Indeed they will. Just as the NHS and key workers appeciated people banging on saucepans, then buggering off and doing whatever they wanted, regardless of the rules (not that I am implying that Boris ever banged a saucepan
)

On the contrary, while it would be purely symbolic, I suspect there will be a strong correlation between those countries awarding douze points to Ukraine and those who have demonstrated that they aren't going to bugger off and leave the Ukrainians to their fate.Indeed they will. I've chosen - hopefully - to ride a 400km audax Saturday-Sunday, meaning I'll be unavailable to watch this
I will admit to having seen this year's performances, many of which are daft. And to have once dated someone who won Eurovision many years ago. That does not qualify me to comment on the winner, which will probably be Ukraine.
