I need to sort a list automatically by values in one column and then the number's position in another.

I know what you mean, but it doesn't work because it sorts by value, not position

You either have it sorting the data by the value of col A or the value of col B. If you want both at the same time you feed the data from this table to a new one sorted by whatever value you want.
If your rows are not numbered apart from the Excel row number then you can make a new column with the value in the box being 1 and then each box below being +1. Then the values of this col can be sorted too.
1 £5
2 £4
3 £3

or the same idea but with a vlookup if they're on different sheets/not visible at the same time etc etc (and of course are unique)
