(inspired by the double album thread)

there was a time when one drummer was, well, not quite enough. Which is not quite as silly as it sounds, because there's something really different about the 'splash' of two drums beating milliseconds apart. Motown was built on double (and sometimes triple) drumming. Elvis would be no more seen with just the one drummer than a Diet Coke

So.......while I've got a soft spot for all that subtle stuff from Kreutzmann and Hart, my favourite double drummers are Benny Benjamin and Richard Allen. See what you think....

I had to audition for a band once many moons ago, they were looking for a drummer, rather than audition one at a time, they had us play two at a time. I didn't get the gig, but it was great fun paying with another drummer.

The other guy, I knew quite well, he gave up playing after a couple of years, 35 years later I'm still playing, and like cycling, the gear acquisition syndrome for drum stuff has kept me poor.

Edit: one of the songs we played at the audition was Long Train Running.

Ha, the two brothers that convinced me and a friend to join a band with them when we were very young are both now doctors, whereas me and the other fella are still slogging away in bands all these many many years later!
Who who had any interest in the music in the 90s can not forget this round-shaded little man...

I once saw him climb inside a grand piano and play it percussively.
Ray Cooper is insane! has to be.
