I agree with Kirstie - the first Airplane in particular is brilliant, but not as good as either Top Secret or the Naked Gun films (let alone the original Police Squad series) made by the same people.

My vote would go to mawkish patronising shite like Forrest Gump and The Green Mile. Bu, shee-it, I just know some folks gonna love them cutesy dumb guys...
