Fitting new wheels-anything I should know?

Morning all.
The original Alex DA22 rims on my SCR2 have done about 12,000 miles and are overdue(!) for replacing according to my reliable lbs.
Due to financial constraints I have brought a new pair of Shimano R500 wheels.
Having never fitted new wheels before, is there anything I should be aware of? ie checking spoke tightness, running-in time etc.

Thanks to all and have a safe one.

They 'should' be fine out of the box, just check the spokes after a couple of rides. Are you fitting a new cassette & chain? If you're using the existing cassette it might need a bit of grunt to get it off the old wheel if it's been on a while.

R500 wheels should be fine to put on out the box, mine were fine for the first couple of rides. after about 100 miles you may need them trued but about from that they are good wheels
