Can any body offer any advice on the best way to get rid of a flat spot on the rim.
I have just put my old bike on the turbo trainer and noticed that there is a flat spot on the rim of about a 3inch section.
The flat spot is just enough to feel as if i am riding over a lump, so is there a easy solution, as i dont want to get another rear wheel as the whole bike is only worth 30 to fift pounds.

You could try completely loosening off the spokes around the flat spot, and possibly even whacking the rim outwards with a rubber mallet. Bit of luck & judgement though...

are you sure it is not the tyre?

yep - wot he said - it is a worthless bike so it won;t be end of the world if you trash the wheel.

get two blocks of wood and rest the the rim on top (with spokes removed) so the flat section is between them - then whack from inside with mallet.
