I'm Looking to go from nobbly mountain bike tyres to something like Schwalbe big Apple
to give me a better ride on the road and a few trails.
I see this tyre comes in wired as well as folding versions......can someone explain the differences and the benefits

thanks

Folding is basically designed for if you had to put it in a pannier - if you were touring and wanted a spare. Wired is basically just you get it and it's tyre shaped (I Believe).

Folding tyres are generally lighter, although there have been some monstrously heavy folding tyres produced. Wire bead versions of tyres are usually cheaper and heavier.

First time I re-fitted a folding tyre I didn't get a part of the the bead correctly seated before inflation (easy to do with a folder), there was a loud bang and a floppy tube - Doh !
