''Grandfathers rights''

Hi....I have an old twist and go electric bike bought before Jan 2016.I enjoy ridding it but worry about all the new laws...….it seems as though as it was bought before Jan 2016 '' grandfather rights '' apply and I can still ride it legally. Does anyone know if I need to do anything, I have feeling it can't be that simple.....

My wife has one with a throttle pre 2016 I don't intend to worry about it

It is that simple. As long as the Twist and Go bike was produced before Jan 2016 it is considered to be legal and is classed as an Electrically Assisted Pedal Cycle.
As long as you don't soup the engine up to over 250W you are fine.
