It was two years today that Mrs Patricia Masters twatted me off my bike on the exit from Caerphilly railway station( after 3 near misses in the previous month). After admitting liability both at the scene and later, the Co-op are still dragging out the claim for damages to bike, clothes etc... ( they settled the personal injury a long time ago).

9 more days and it will be my 3rd anniversary of my off - 18th December 2008 - even a little Sciencento can do some damage. Liability admitted within six weeks, still going through PI and 'specialist opinions' - at least I'll have a way forward eventually as the NHS just want to fill me with drugs.

Happy Anniversary.

WHY do these things take so ruddy long to settle? Aside from the obvious of briefs running up a decent make it worth their while bill! A great buddy of mine was as you say 'twatted' at a road junction by a Landrover coming from behind. It went on and on and on. LR driver held hands up, admitted liability on the spot, to the lads in blue etc. Three years later my buddy passed away (unrelated to accident), never did get settled!

Mostly because people don't like (want) to admit they made a mistake.

It's not just that. Legal wrangling, other side not playing ball/delaying, oh and medical reports. And when you play things by the book, the NHS can take a long time to get 'repairs' done - so the third party 'wins' there, at the expense of the 'injured party's well being'.
