We're kindred spirits re the computer... my young daughter's my IT support / consultant.
Only just joined myself, but really enjoyed reading of peoples experiences... in particular the London / Paris thing to which I've become addicted! Ever tried it?

Hi Gegs, Welcome from a former Suffolk man now marooned in darkest Essex.
Don't worry about computers. When I started school we had an abacus and wrote with chalk on a slate, and that's true!

Hi, I'm live in Ipswich but originally from Essex. No i haven't done London to Paris but it sounds like a cool trip. I do get over to France quite a bit though as my Dad lives way down south, also a very keen cyclist still at 75 ! I love to go down there where cyclists are welcomed by young and old alike. Anyone ever ridden the Gorge Du Verdon ? I did it twice so far but this year it was 39 degrees with zero wind, and a bit much. I love the way you can stop at at village fountain for a refill of mountain water and just start chatting with local guys, terrific atmosphere......

Hi Mike, nice to talk to you, i've most probably seen you as i take my girlfriend to work in Ipswich quite a bit. Do you have several bikes for different rides ? or one does the lot. Myself i have built up a bit of a collection which has just included a tandem, omg what a weird thing to ride......

My main ride is a Specialised Sirrus comp which is brilliant, i also recently brought an MTB off ebay but it's a little big for me so will be looking to sell it on! (gutted as it's lovely). Often wanted to try a tandem out!

We may well have passed, in the Summer I was working in Melton: yellow racer with red bar tape, about 7:15am.
I usually leave home at 7.30am so may not have!
