Did you do all the distilleries on Islay or just a select few?

Great pics. The beaches are fantastic up there and the water so clear. One shot was a definite reminder of the dreaded midge though.

@HJ we took a pic outside every distillery we passed - I believe we got all of them on Islay
@addictfreak there were 4 days of rain, but we only ended up riding in one of them. The other three we just stayed put because of the severity of the downpours!

Umm good question - I think it's made by an american company called GSI...? Anyway it was only 15 quid and is probably our best ever piece of kit!

I didn't see Lagavulin, did I miss it? I will let you off Port Ellen as it is technically mothballed, although you can still get Port Ellen single malts...

No you missed it - lagavulin is there at number 3.
We visited port ellen too, but as it wasn't a current distillery - isn't it the 'global maltings' for diageo or something - we decided it wasn't eligible...

we bought our similar expresso maker in the local kitchen ware shop.

Single cup Moka makers are also available quite cheaply

I notice your tent doesn't have a full 'bathtub' groundsheet - do you wake up in the morning with slugs sliming all over your sleeping bag, beetles and/or ants amongst your food/cooking gear amongst other things crawling about getting into places they shouldn't and making a nuisance of themselves?
