Just a thought but the Royal George might be a better meeting place as it doesn't go uphill so soon straight after. There's a mile or so to spin your legs beforehand.

I hope we will be riding at the pace of the slowest rider.

I'm not a quick rider, I did this route on sunday and roughly averaged 14.5mph. I wasn't too clever for half the ride but that sort of speed sounds about right for me on that route.

Apologies in advance if this is too slow dan bo! ;)

What kind of distance is this?

At a guess about 50ish miles.

I could put it onto Bikely tomorrow night but would I be able to link to there from here?

  11. I'd love to, but I'm not in the area. I've ridden round there before and it's a fantastic place for a ride. Enjoy yourselves!

That sounds fast to me, I wonder if I can speed up before then.

14-15 mph sounds about right for me on that route too longers. And of course It's nice for people to wait at the top of big climbs an all ;)

And it's not as long as you think either. From my house in failsworth the shorter route is ~ 42 mile. Come on trio have a go- i'm definitley made for comfort, not speed.
