See my signature below ... i'm sooo close to hitting 1000 miles, but sooo far away as i'm
at work every day this week.

I think i'll do 2.8 miles tuesday and 2.8 miles wednesday commuting to/from work ... but will
i fit the rest in, that is the question. :banghead:

Given that you have one just day after today, it doesn't look likely unless you decide to add about 40-odd miles to today's commute home and do the same tomorrow!

Having said that, it looks as though you need to make a serious increase to your 2012 MCL goal! I suggest an initial revision to 10 miles a day - 3,650 miles, but if you keep up your current amount of riding there is a good chance that you could 'do a potsy', smash through that target in the autumn and set a new target of 100 miles a week - 5,200 miles!

Now there's an alarming thought
You gotta hand it to the little (height!) fella though - it was some achievement to beat a significant annual target by a very significant 42.5%! :bravo:

And while we are on the subject of 'everybody putting ColinJ to shame' ... It hasn't escaped my notice that you are soaring to dizzying heights on MCL too. Well done the lot of you!

(I'm just lulling you all into a false sense of security and will start to pursue you up the rankings later in the year!)

Well there i was, figuring i'd get up early this morning (tuesday) and do a gentle 20 miler to work ... even though my
commute is usually 1.4 miles, and then a 30 miler this evening.
The intruder alarm at work went off in the night and i had to sort that out, (read: smash the living crap out of a spider
that had set up camp in front of a sensor).
This rather scrambled my desire to complete the early ride.

Still, i did a nice 42 miler this evening, plus i got some admiring looks from the ladies at work when they spotted me in my
padded cycling shorts. :becool:

When that thing in my sig catches up it will show 953 miles.

I plan to do my old 22 miler route in the morning, and the usual 30 miler in the evening tommorow, so i should
crack it.

You were just teasing us!

Don't worry about it, I always say it's not the quantity it's the quality that counts, in other words you can do high mileage with little effort [providing you have a flat route, which you have]. Most of my mileage is in the hills and it is all on fixed so though my totals are relatively low they are quality miles. Plus at this time of year ride length and intensity is a little lower, in fact just starting to increase now as the temperatures rise.

Cor, what i'd do to gain a few hills round here!!!
My usual evening ride takes me over several fen river bridges, each with a 20 - 40 foot climb due to the nature of this area.
(Its very common to see a flood tide way higher than the surrounding land). I've also got 5 x 50 foot flyovers to buzz over.

I plan to cycle the pass of llanberis soon and maybe hardknott pass (again) ... i'm fine with real hill climbs, just slower!!

+43 straight out of work this evening meaning mission accomplished.

Left knee making unusual aches, so the last 5 or so miles tonight had me pushing with my right leg with left "just along for the ride".
Three days away from the saddle now methinks.

1019 miles in 60 days hauling my beer belly around. :heat:

Well done for proving me wrong..

These long rides really help clear my head after a stressful day at work, much better than
watching 3 hours of tv!!

The 8 rechargeable batteries used on my two bar lights and one headlight have been in and out
of the charger like crazy, but are lasting really well. (All lights are quite high-drain).
