Hole in frame

Just noticed a hole in my frame where the rear forks meet the seat post mast - its obviously meant to be there, but is it meant to be plugged with a grommet or something?

Just gave the bike a good wash the other day and i'm sure water will have got in, and I cant see anywhere for it to drain


Hope the terminology is right, otherwise i'll post a piccy later. Neil.

Holes are usually there to vent gasses during welding as I understand it. You could plug it, but most likely it also allows the frame to breathe and dry out internally. Hard to tell without seeing it.
