I've dreamt about cycling before but last night's dream wasn't about racing the bike downhill or over snow-covered peaks but an in-depth conversation with someone where we vigorously debated the pros and cons of different types of bikes, drops vs flats, styles of riding, road conditions, kit and accessories...

This is normal, right? Right?

Maaaany years ago when my younger brother and I were absolutely obsessed with mountain biking to the point where we were driving our family mad, I wrote a letter to our Mum telling her that we had both been experiencing sexy dreams about our bikes, lovingly wiping down their bottom brackets, tweaking their spoke nipples, riding them hard down hills and pumping up their tyres. The reaction was, as predicted, absolute horror followed by a recommendation that we both saw a psychologist as soon as possible.

She's gullible, is our Mum.....

Sounds dangerously obsessive. You're turning into a bike nerd like MacB.
Just don't get any butterfly bars and there's a slim chance that you may make a full recovery:tongue:

You shouldn't be sleeping. You should be lying awake trying to divide a 53 tooth chainring by a 13 tooth sprocket and multiplying it by a 700c wheel in your head. That's normal.

I have a spreadsheet set up for gears, BMI, various hub gears and the equivalent cassette sizes for a BWR hub with standard gearing.
Still normal, yes? Aifinkso.

Dreaming about riding is what I deem normal. Dreaming about having a conversation about riding and different bikes :stop: . You can dream about absolutely anything, and this is what you end up doing.

I agree with Davidc, a phsycoligist asap, tell them it's urgent

No biking dreams here, but I enjoy a good thread about the merit of various brand of tyres ....

I had a dream once where I was leading a road race by quite a large margin, but I then stopped for a cake or donut or similar, and as I was eating it, everyone passed me so I came in last.

That, I can tell you isn't normal, because I wouldn't be leading the field in the first place!

How do you know when you've just passed a cyclist?

.....you can't get the seat down!
