Friday night was the first time anyone has really noticed the brightness of my front light.

I was heading down an unlit coastal path at night when I noticed a dark figure coming towards me in the pedestrian side of the path (shared use path).
Him (on phone): "Muffled"
Me (Stops): "Sorry?"
Him: " I thought you were a train coming down there!"
Me: "Oh, haha, alright."

And we both head off in our separate directions.

He was the only person I saw on that section of path (about 4 miles in the dark), and it cheered me up a bit.

Your light can't be too bright if a dark figure's coming towards you.;)

I was out cycling last summer at about 10 or 11ish at night. Saw a ninja cyclist up ahead, started closing on him, and he jumped up onto the pavement and said "I thought you were a car".

But to be called a train, damn that's something to work towards.

Cyclist: WTF? (Shines light in drivers eyes) Can you f*cking see me now!?

I have had this conversation!

Shone light in her goddamn pikey face and stood in front of her lights with my hi-vis on.

Then she admited that she didn't see me; because she was doing her eyebrows.

I less than politely suggested that it was her brain and eyes that needed work.

I had a similar interaction with a van driver a long time ago.
But he told me to "Behave myself" and went on his way. All because he believed I cut him up and blocked him from passing. The police officer saw my side of course and agreed that I didnt cut him up and he shouldnt have got out of his van.
