I was on holiday in this area last week and discovered a road near Drumbeg which must be one of the hilliest I've been on. Does anyone else know it?

Yes. I've done it, not once, but twice when touring.
It's an absolute f**ker.

I must confess I chuckled when I saw three cyclotourists all panniered up on recumbents!

I know it, never ridden it but I remember how steep it was and thinking it would be a 'bit of a challenge'. Beautiful area though.

I chickened out of it this summer and went over the A894 to Kylesku. Quinag is one impressively buttressed beast.

We climbed quinag last summer - two out of its three pointy bits. We couldn't walk for days afterwards...used all of the wrong muscle groups!
