We have had wall to wall sunshine most of the day, the first day I have been unable to get out on the bike dammit.

Been looking at when it is going going to probably stop raining. This storm is absolutely massive!! My best guess would be about 2000 miles in diameter, looks like something out of the day after tomorrow.

The fronts have passed us, so we are going to be getting bands of showers as the cyclone draws colder Arctic air.

Probably not going to mean very much to a lot of you:

Looking at that profile indicates to me that the airmass is unstable and that we are sitting directly underneath the jet stream with descending stratospheric air. My guess would be for more interesting weather to come and that we are currently sitting ducks for any more developing storms. I haven't done a proper analysis so have a limited idea of what is going on up there.
