That bloke in the hold was very lucky not to be wiped out by the forklift truck.

I have to add that the best, er, nookie I ever had was in a cabin in a cross-channel ferry in roughish weather. It was a bit embarrassing though when we kind of missed through the call to go down to the car deck and when eventually we made it down there was my car sitting in solitary splendour in the empty hold.

Can't see the vid at the moment. It's not blocked, just too slow to download on the ships connection I'm using. 40 knot winds at the moment with 3-4 metre seas. It's not even winter yet.
Link I've posted before.

And it is a good idea to keep clear of the windows! Here are some pics of a cruise ship and the wave damage it suffered early this morning. Topical eh?

What the internal CCTV doesnt show, is the angle that the ship is probably reaching. I saw a related vid that showed a similar ship rolling at close to 45 degrees!

I mean, it would take quite a bit of angle to move a forklift.

I went on the QE2 in Sept' 2007.

The boat left Southampton and rounded Ireland in a Force 8. 75 mph windspeed across the deck.

It was a 40ft swell. The stabilisers were switched on.

The crew worked flat out mopping up vomit.

My dad was in the Merchant Navy and I've sailed before. What a hoot.

The next day, the First Officer's comment was "That's the difference between an Ocean Liner and a Cruise Liner".

The ship in that second video looked to be in some kind of trouble to me - surely the stabilisers wouldn't normally allow that much roll?

Reminds of the joke where the punch line is "I'm not making love in this weather". The beginning bit is unrepeatable.
