Can I book a return train ticket from Bristol to Clermont Ferrand (France), or do I have to do this in five ish separate tickets (Bristol to Padding, Padd to St Pancras, St Panc to Paris, across Paris, Paris to Clermont F)?

Any web sites wot you have successfully used for this type of journey, tips etc gratefully received.

You should be able to get a through ticket on the Eurostar site (www.eurostar.com), though note that you can only book three months in advance (and sometimes less wheer the TGV's involved). IIRC by booking this way you're covered for missed connections because the whole journey counts as an international one, which has greater protection. Also, it should be cheaper than buying separate tickets (though you can often get good deals on the TGV from the SNCF site). The tube fare in London should be included, but you'll have to fork out separately for the bit between the Paris termini.

It can be booked as two journeys. Bristol to St Pancras and St Pancras to your destination. There does not appear to be any way of using a single agent though.

Have a rouut around The Man in Seat Sixty-One web site. It might give you some more ideas.
