We have a suspected very very prolific bike thief who always has BSO's chained up outside the station with a for sale sign. Every day a different bike. This morning he had a ladies Raleigh for sale for £30. I phoned the neighbourhood police who gave been made aware of the situation and left a message.
20 minutes later another bike thief exited the station on an orange Apollo BSO with a flat. He saw the other BSO, abandoned his Apollo and pulled the Raleigh by the frame until the cheap lock snapped. Them he rode off on the Raleigh. I now have a very heavy BSO cluttering my office hoping the police will come and collect it as evidence.
All this was observed on CCTV after the incident otherwise I 'may' have intervened.
