I was working on the Isle of Wight yesterday and managed to finish mid-afternoon. Luckily I'd brought my bike with me  so it seemed daft not to have a ride.

Bike is pictured at the top of Blackgang looking across towards Freshwater. Beautiful day and some nice hills!

Hi Cunobelin,

I had already looked at doing it but am already booked up for that weekend with family things. What a p*sser

About this time last year I asked for recommended routes on the island, (possibly on the old Cycling Plus forum?) and you kindly replied. I've been across few times now and love the place for riding my bike.

One of my customers/friends lives there and did the Etape last year. He had a blog called Etape or Bust which is still worth a read. He took me and another colleague on a ride last May and showed us some hills! There is a picture of us above The Needles here. What isn't obvious is that I arrived for the picture 3 or 4 minutes after they'd got there. Didn't even have time to suck my stomach in

Nice stable you have there, bit worried 'bout the Spesh though...Looks like yer top toob is a bit bent ;)

Thanks. Just found another one further back in the stable and added it to the site.

You are right about the Spesh. I think I'd better take it back and get one with a straight top tube and real chain-set like the Rondelli. Now that's a proper bike. None of this namby-pamby compact rubbish. Compact frameset? Compact chainset? Pah!!! What is the world coming to? ;)
