Went for a little short 20 miler this afternoon. For two reasons, firstly an
ice cream, and secondly to take a couple of photographs.

Here is the famous Henley Ice Cream shop in Henley in Arden, midway between Solihull and Stratford upon Avon.

Here is a framed photograph of a group of cyclists Circa 1948 - 1950, which hangs inside the ice cream shop.

Interesting pics!
My Grandparents used to go tandem riding around the Pennines. My Mum never learned how to ride a bike though (her Dad was killed during the war and her Mum didn't ride a bike again ;))
I think I inherited my Grandad's thigh muscles!

Sorry I haven't any photos to prove this.

My Uncle John C Lee rode for the RAF circa 1937 - 38. He had a Claude Butler Tour d'Angleterre 531.

Died 2nd April 1942. 103 Squadron "Black swans", Elsham Wolds.

Plane ditched in the Humber after taking serious damage. All crew killed.

So cycling came down both sides of the family.
