I suspect the badge dates back a bit further...
(Apple's marketing-led development dates back at least to the mid-80s - at school the computer club got sent a lot of Apple stickers, presumably to entice away from the Spectrum and BBC Micro offerings we'd otherwise have been drooling over. I was more enticed by the remote terminal to the mainframe that let me calculate the Fibonacci sequence...)
