What is availability of new tyres like? 650c is a bit tricky these days, 24" (I am assuming they are ISO 520) are very tricky to find.

a tell you what you should see some of the 8-9 year olds bikes at the road races, crist there good, full carbon everything, top end groupie and most of them 2 grand deep section wheels...

Yeah? Max. permitted rim depth is 35mm for youth BCDE IIRC

It's not rigorously enforced, by any means.. I've seen *obvious* cheating going on in this respect and the race officials did *nothing* ;)

in national and big regional racesit is, as they have gear check before races etc...

also i believe anther reason for restricitions is to learn kids to spin... a key factor in winning races
