Why, is this true?

Is there some hope for the place? How do they get through the barriers?

Erm, go to the side barrier and a member of staff lets them in? Or the kid still gets a ticket to use at the barriers if you purchase one, it just costs nuffink.

I was in London a few months back with my family. I didn't bother with any Oyster-ShmoysterCard for the kids - way too much hassle getting photos and applying etc. They got free tube tickets when me and my wife bought ours.

Don't know how old your kids are Mr.P, but if you can avoid it don't take a pushchair on the underground. It's a 'kin nightmare and a half.
