Would this be long enough?

I had that problem with my Carry Freedom trailer.
I fixed it with a bit of lateral thinking.

My skewer nut is in two parts.
A metal inner core covered by a plastic outer.
I prised the two parts apart and replaced the metal inner the wrong way around.
Not only did this move the thead a good 10mm inwards but it also gave a step for the hanger to sit on.
This means that if the hanger slips under hard braking if prasses on the nut, not the skewer.

Luck ...........

We use a Trailgator to tow our youngest around on longer trips. When it's not attached to his bike it hangs off the side of the rear of mine. There's a bracket that keeps it from moving around. The bracket fixes to the axle on the skewer, between the frame and the non-chain-side skewer nut.

I've got Shimano skewers on the bike. The bracket fits, but I'm not comfortable with the amount of thread gripping the nut on the other side. I've also go a Hope skewer that's a similar length.

Does anyone know who makes longer ones? These should be long enough that they jut out a bit when on a normal bike.

Hiya mate, hope all is well?!

Halo do long skewers and then call them 'porkies' which is a little misleading.
