Did my first proper route yesterday. A red route of 19.5K's. Rode the majority but had to do a bit of pushing and one carry at rocky/bouldery setions, came off twice although practically at a stop both times so no injury or damage. The final steep descent leading back to Fitz park down the stony bridleway had me hanging in there for dear life but arrived at the gate without crashing straight through it, just. Thoroughly enjoyed it, but am now left wondering what a black route is like, also having observed a small group of other riders doing the same route, I now understand that having to push and carry sometimes is okay and acceptable, as I had thought having to so might be a bit wimpish.
