I'm not that impressed with public transport in Geneva. In the day it is OK, but the frequency of service in the trams and trains in the evening isn't that good.

I also saw a cyclist nearly come a cropper when I was there when he got trapped between trams coming in both directions. I thought he had connected for a brief moment as they are so close together, which was fairly heart stopping.

The bicycle is so much more normal in Switzerland - as you are travelling through the countryside in a train, almost every house seems to have some bikes propped up near the front door completed unlocked. And the trains have spaces for bikes. But I like the angle of the promotion. I don't have any experience of Geneva itself ... its just somewhere I pass through. But even an ageing friend of mine who lives up above Vevey decided that the hills were becoming a bit much so got herself an electric bike which she loves.
